How do you build a podcast market? Podcasting in the Middle East is in its infancy. Whereas in markets like the US, there are 500,000 active shows, in the Middle East there are maybe 150 active podcast shows, and most have cropped up in the past year alone. Kerning Cultures is one of the few Middle East podcast companies, and as such, is defining the landscape. We’ll share the woes and opportunities we’ve faced, what it takes to build a new user behaviour when digital audio is not mainstream, and the potential we see for the podcasting scene across the Middle East and North Africa.
