September 30 @ 1AM-2AM PDT – Podcasting the World’s Museums
Can an outsider tell meaningful stories of identity and culture? Museums in Strange Places has an ambitious mission: to visit a new country, region, or state every season and discover its culture and unique identity by visiting museums. In this session, I will discuss how I explored the museums of Iceland and Maryland through podcasting and what lessons I learned along the way about interviewing people with different backgrounds (and varying levels of English), building an international podcast audience, and avoiding stereotypes when podcasting in exotic places.
